I was fortunate to be introduced to The Fay Farm back in April when I had the opportunity to review their CBD warming muscle rub. It was the first time I had tried a product with CBD oil in it and I found it very effective at relieving pain. However, I wasn’t very keen on the greasiness of the salve and concluded that I would much prefer a lotion. Therefore, I was thrilled when I was given the opportunity to review The Fay Farm Serenity CBD Lotion *.

Keep reading to find out more about The Fay Farm Serenity CBD Lotion but if you want the TL;DR version: this stuff is amazing, I use it every single day and absolutely love it. It’s my new favourite thing and if you want to try it for yourself, I have a 10% discount code for you at the end of this post.

The Fay Farm Serenity CBD Lotion

I really dislike it when I look at the label on a product and feel clueless about what the ingredients actually are. One of the things I love most about The Fay Farm is that they are a family run business who use natural ingredients in their products, many of which are sourced from their own farm. The ‘Serenity CBD Lotion’ is full of high-quality, organic ingredients that are recognisable on reading the label.

The ingredients

Hemp oil, grape seed oil, apricot kernel oil, argan oil,  chamomile, green tea, oats, passionflower, skullcap– to name some ingredients– are combined with CBD oil, magnesium and essential oils to create a soothing lotion, that helps to calm the central nervous system and is used to relieve stress, anxiety and nerve pain.

Amazing scent

The ‘Serenity CBD Lotion’ has a soft fragrance with notes of lavender, which gives it a relaxing and calming scent. I absolutely LOVE the smell of this lotion and it’s great that it is a subtle scent that is not at all over-powering.

A quick note on CBD oil

Before trying The Fay Farm products, I was pretty clueless about CBD oil. In fact, I wasn’t even sure about the legality of it here in the UK until I did a little research.

Although it is a type of cannabinoid, CBD oil is devoid of psychoactive effect (it can’t get you high). The CBD oil used in The Fay Farm products is derived from hemp stalks and it is, therefore, legal in the UK (at the time of writing this post).

As far as what the benefits are, CBD oil acts as a pain reliever by reducing inflammation and it can also help to improve the symptoms of anxiety and depression.

My thoughts on the ‘Serenity CBD Lotion’

Click to read or pin to save for later. My first impressions of the ‘Serenity CBD Lotion’ were very positive, as you can see by the tweet I sent out the first day I used it (though clearly I was having a fibro fog kind of day!!).

I have to say that my impression of the product has only gotten better since then. I absolutely love it!

How I use The Fay Farm ‘Serenity CBD Lotion’

I use the lotion every morning and every night. In the morning I apply it to my neck and across my shoulders. In the evenings, I apply it to the same area, plus I also put some onto the soles of my feet (which helps me to feel relaxed and ready for sleep).

It helps with my fibromyalgia pain

My neck and shoulders are my most problematic areas as far as pain is concerned. Now that I am regularly using this lotion, I have found that my pain in this area has been reduced.

I no longer use my heat pad or Lightstim on such a regular basis. I was using them a couple of times a day for at least half an hour at a time and now I only use them every few days.

I can’t claim that this lotion will take fibromyalgia pain away completely (basically nothing on its own will), but it definitely does reduce it and make it more manageable.

I also find the lotion makes me calmer

Not only does it help to reduce my pain, but this lotion also immediately makes me feel calm and relaxed when I apply it. It’s a great solution for relieving stress and anxiety. Michael from the Fay Farm explains:

The Serenity Lotion is great for relieving anxiety and stress. The best way to test this is to first, on a scale of one to ten, with ten being the highest intensity, determine your stress level. Next, apply the Serenity Lotion on your neck around the lymph glands and over the abdomen. If you have an opportunity, take your socks off and put the lotion on the bottoms of your feet. Then wait about 5 minutes and check your anxiety or stress level again.

I’ve tried the Serenity Lotion on nearly 100 people and I’ve noticed after a few minutes, the area around the eyes begins to relax and soften. It’s quite impressive to observe, so if you have an opportunity to try it out on someone who happens to be overly stressed, have them put on the Lotion and just talk to them, paying attention to the area around their eyes.”

Applying the lotion to the soles of my feet

It was reading this that prompted me to try applying the lotion to the soles of my feet in the evenings and, I have to say, it definitely works. I also reach for this product anytime I feel anxious, stressed or a bit worked up. As we all know, stress is the enemy when you are chronically ill and practising calmness should be a priority. The ‘Serenity CBD Lotion’ makes relaxation and calmness easier to achieve during those difficult moments.

As I said above, this lotion is now a firm favourite of mine and I plan to continue purchasing it as it has become an essential part of my healthcare regime. It comes in two sizes: 2 ounces and 8 ounces. The smaller size would be perfect for travel, whereas the larger size is a good size to have at home (it is the size in the photograph above).

Want to try The Fay Farm products for yourself?

I would highly recommend trying the ‘Serenity CBD Lotion’. If you are interested in trying The Fay Farm products for yourself you can order online. Please note that the CBD products are now labelled ‘Hemp Oil Extract’ or ‘HOE’ instead of CBD and are sold via Canna Treehouse. You can find the Serenity lotion here.

I would love to hear your thoughts on this product in the comments below if you do try it.

    1. I would honestly recommend trying a product with cbd oil in it. It wasn’t legal here until last year, so although I had heard a lot about it, I just kind of let it all pass me by. I’m actually amazed at how much it helps my pain.

  1. I’m a big fan of Fay Farm cbd lotion. I have original, serenity and rejuvenation! I also have the warmimg muscle salve. Absolute bliss!! Love them they work amazingly well. If anyone out there is wondering..yes! oreder it!

    1. I remember you recommending that I try one of the lotions, thank you! I agree, the products are wonderful and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this lotion to anyone 🙂

    2. Hi Suzanne, I am interested in these lotions but not sure which to purchase. What are the major differences? What do you like about each of them? Thank you!

    1. Yay! You’re welcome. I hope you love it as much as I do. I just bought another bottle that’s on its way to me, I couldn’t be without it now 😀

  2. It s not very often I write product reviews. I m bad at sticking to new habits long enough to determine whether or not something has worked, and fibromyalgia is so unpredictable that if I feel for a better day I can t work out if it s the new product, or my diet that day, or the weather.

    1. Yeah, it’s generally the case that if you try something new, you need to stick with it for at least a month to see if it is truly helping. But with this, I feel the difference right away. It’s definitely something I have to use regularly to feel the benefits, though.

  3. I am seriously thinking about this for my EDS pain as nothing else helps and I am desperate at the moment. I react to so many things though.

    1. Hi Emma,

I don’t have EDS but I can highly recommend the Fay Farm products. The serenity lotion is probably my favourite as I love the scent and find it very soothing. I’m also trying out the rejuvenation lotion at the moment and I would say it edges ahead as far as pain relief goes. However, it has a “deep heat” sort of smell to it, which I am not too keen on. But I can’t fault it as a product because it definitely works! Let me know how you get on if you do decide to try it :O)

    1. Hi Susan,

I can highly recommend the serentity cbd lotion and also the rejuvenation cbd lotion. I’d say the serenity is more soothing and helpful with stress and anxiety, in addition to pain. The rejuvenation is more focussed on pain relief and gives quicker pain relief for me but has a “deep heat” smell to it (the serenity lotion smells amazing). You can order products from the Fay Farm by clicking here. If you do order, be sure to add “February Stars” into the comments box on the order form to get a 10% discount 🙂

  4. This lotion is the only thing I’ve tried that actually does anything for my back pain… I’ve been able to cut my painkiller usage (not opioids thankfully) in half thanks to this stuff. It’s amazing!
