Disclaimer: I went through the Integrative Lyme Disease treatment program at Infusio, Frankfurt from the 23rd October to the 3rd of November 2017. During this time, I kept a journal of my experience and I am now sharing this with you here. Please keep in mind that this is my personal experience. The treatments and therapies I had were based on what was best for me as an individual. Therefore, if you have been to Infusio, Frankfurt or are planning to go, your experience may differ from mine.
Tuesday 31st October
This morning I really struggled to wake up and get out of bed. I literally felt like I dragged myself up. I was feeling heavy, drained and exhausted. This wasn’t helped by the fact I was also in a mood. I was grumpy and irritable and all I wanted to do was sleep.
I also had pain in my neck (especially the left side), shoulders and upper and lower back. I took two paracetamol for the pain as it was really bothering me. Needless to say, I didn’t have the best start to the day!
Day 7 Treatments
At the clinic I had the following IVs:
- Dioxychlor: a natural antibiotic that supplies oxygen to the cells. This may help to eliminate toxins, bacteria, parasites, viruses and yeast.
- Calcium EDTA: a detox IV that helps to rid the body of heavy metals, metabolic waste and toxins.
- Liver flush/detox: designed to support liver function, as the name suggests.
- Artesunate: derived from the artemisinin plant, artesunate is effective against intracellular organisms, such as Borrelia and Babesia. Simply put, it splits iron and oxygen and the oxygen is then available to kill organisms.
- Myer’s cocktail: high dose of vitamins and minerals.
I was so unbelievably tired and moody that I was not feeling up to having treatments at all today. But, of course, that’s the whole reason I was there and I told myself the treatments would help me to feel better.
On days like today, it was great to have someone with me as support. Ross knew exactly how to deal with me and was able to get me focussed on staying relaxed and allowing the treatments to help.
Lymphatic Drainage Suit
Whilst I had my IVs, I had another treatment in the lymphatic drainage suit. It didn’t feel as tight as the previous session. I think Angela set it a bit lower today due to my blood pressure being on the low side. The treatment session lasted around 45 minutes and I was so tired that I fell asleep in the suit!
The other patients were amazed that I managed to sleep in the “squeezy trousers of doom”, as some of us liked to refer to them. I was honestly that exhausted I think I would have slept anywhere! I do think the nap helped.
However, I was still in a bit of a mood and I felt quite restless. Unlike last week, which went in quickly, I felt like the day was dragging on.
Last Treatments of the Day
I was relieved when my IV treatments were finished today. I had another treatment on the laser bed following this and my daily thymus shot. Then it was my turn for the final treatment of the day— a full body massage. I think I was definitely in need of this! I felt physically and mentally better afterwards.
I love that Infusio takes a holistic approach to health and includes treatments that help both the mind and body. Having bodywork included in the program is wonderful and really helps.
How I felt following treatment
I was happy to be finished with treatments today, as you can probably tell! I think in my mind I was wishing the day away so tomorrow would come quicker. Tomorrow is stem cell day! I’m so unbelievably excited about it. It’s what we have been looking forward to and preparing for, for such a long time.
In the evening following today’s treatments, I had what I can only describe as pain in my legs that felt similar to growing pains. Or, at least what I imagine they would feel like! My upper body was also sore and I had a mild headache. I took two paracetamol to help with the pain.
